Project SOOC: Group 2 Edited

Ok...here they are. My lovely little Rosie Cheeks. I've been toying with the idea of framing some of these and putting them in the girls' new play room. We'll see. Anyway, I've really been loving my back and white photos lately. You just nevermind my ever changing watermark. I haven't made up my mind on what I want. If you have an opinion, shout it out!

Project SOOC: Group 2

I took these a couple of weeks ago for my Rosie Cheeks 18 month pictures. She's just getting so big I wanna cry. She already talks so much, I'm not ready for her to be a big chatty toddler. So, here they are as promised, SOOC group numero dos. Isn't she precious? Ok...so the last one isn't SOOC. I accidentally saved over the original with the edited version, but isn't it just sweet?

Project SOOC: Group 1 Edited

Ok...I lied. I retouched them, and I couldn't stand to wait a week to post them! Here they are...

CRITTERS

We went camping for Memorial Day weekend. I found this Spider when I caught his web right in the face. I don't think he was happy...this is the look he gave me.
There we tons of these little damsel flies around. They're so beautiful. I love that black and iridescent green combo!

My daughter found this microscopic cricket on our patio table as we were getting ready to leave home for camping. I'm so glad she told instead of squishing him. I LOVE this photo.

We went to Holland, MI after camping and visited Dutch Land. If you haven't been, go. They have real wooden shoes that you can actually wear, and YES they are SOOOO comfortable! This bee just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I was sad I missed all the tulips, but they still had lots of flowers everywhere. This bee just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
And...this dude was hobbled across our lawn one afternoon. My AVJ really wanted to keep him as her pet turtle. Yeeaah...no. I have a picture of her with the turtle, but that's later.

Project SOOC: Group 1

Ok...here we go! Lets get this Project SOOC going! I'm going to try to group these in themes like critters, people, and plants. Please remember that SOOC means "Straight Out Of Camera." That means I haven't corrected any goofs I made, or brighten them up, or added contrast, or... well...ANYTHING (Hence the term SOOC)! If you have something interesting to say or a CONSTRUCTIVE critique to add, feel free!
This is my group #1:
CRITTERS

Still Here

I'm still here! We moved into our new house a almost 2 weeks ago. We've really been enjoying ourselves! So, I haven't had anytime for the other fluff I normally do(which includes this blog). I'm spending the next week unpacking (FINALLY!). It's just too tempting to stay outside in the sunshine and play when you actually have a yard!

After our life is unpacked and put away I'll be back. I'll be bringing a new project. I've decided to go SOOC (straight out of camera, for all you non-photogy people) for a week and then go back the following week and do post processing. I'm hoping that this will help me better my photography before it actually hits the computer. You see, I really love to draw and paint (but with kids there's not enough time). And so, I really like small details in faces like catch lights in eyes and how you can see that the light shines through the eye and lights up the opposite edge of the iris. I love me some Photoshop, and the eyes are the first thing I hit up when I open my photos. It'll probably drive me nuts to not post process everything right away, but I'm gonna do it...for one month. It shouldn't be too hard at first (my regular computer with PSE on it is still packed away!) I hope I improve as much as I think I will. I'll let you be the judge!

Here's a my Rosie Cheeks while you wait! (taken today...SOOC :) )

PLEASE, do not use any of the pictures on this blog with out my permission. Thank you!
